Deadlifting

Perhaps my favorite lift that we do in Crossfit is the deadlift.  I love it for its simplicity and for its complexity (if you are doing it correctly).  Today in the three morning classes at the gym EVERY SINGLE ATHLETE set a new PR on the deadlift.  That includes me, albeit with some grunting on the 1 rep.

So today. . .

Strength:

Deadlift--  Build up to a one rep max.


WOD:

5 Rounds for Time
15 Kettlebell Swings
30 ABMAT Situps

  1. So. . .deadlift. I wasn't sure where my 5 RM was going into the gym today. As I built up from 225 to 255 I decided to do 5 Reps at 295. That is a new 5RM PR by 45 pounds. My old 5 rep PR was 250. Then I also went on to set a new 1RM PR by deadlifting 345. So my 5x295 was followed by a 325-335-345(PR).

    The KBS and Situp WOD took me 7:00 on the nose with a 53# KB.
