"Bob's Tasty Combo #3"

Kind of a dorky name for a WOD, but when you steal them you don't have a choice I guess.  I went to "WODshop.com" and just let the random WOD generator give us a couple of them for the current batch of 7 or so. 

The best part of this one is that I will be able to get in a run and maybe two WODs as it isn't really a "scorcher."

  1. Gary, I am offended. I am not easily offended, but REALLY? "Bob's Tasty Combo #3" and the workout is full of--I CAN'T EVEN WRITE IT!

    I like CrossFit, but there is an underlying crassness that permeates the naming of WODs. For real.

    Therefore, I did not WOD in protest. Actually that had nothing to do with it; I just slept in.

    But today, I started my 100 Day Burpee Challenge. I have exactly 100 days until I hit my 210 "boots on ground" (BOG) date. Perfect. Today was Day One; I did one. Tomorrow is Day Two; I will do two. Woohoo!

  2. I am sorry. I didn't even pick up on that. So much for me being observant.

    Again, I am very sorry. My mind doesn't work that way. That is either fortunate or unfortunate.

    82 Burpees in 7 minutes. I would have made my goal of 84 or beyond if not for Tessie getting under foot. My strategy was off too. I went for "consistent" over the 7 minutes. I had done 50 in 3:50 last week. I hit the 50 mark around 4:15 today. If I had just gone for broke I bet I could hit 100.

    I will admit that Crossfit needs to work on some of the "rough around the edges culture" stuff. It is a great program, but I can see why there are gyms for women only in this world.

  4. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing! "Dorky"--Really?

    Very good point about "all women" gyms. Since I'm not really what most would consider "eye candy"--these shoulders don't fall into that category--I don't have the concerns some women do. Who needs that shit? And, yes, not all men think like that--you being one of them. I think that is why you do so well in your current line of work--you don't give off the "I'm a creepy guy checking you out" vibe; you give off more of the "I'm an awesome dad who is somewhat oblivious but in a good way" vibe. I think that will serve you well in the gym as well. Hairy legs? You don't even notice. Nice ass? You are looking at maintaining lumbar curve and "no cheats." People don't believe me, but I know it!

    Okay, today (29 Feb 2012)--I forgot to bring the WODs home. Surprising!

    20 Front squats (L: 55#/C: Lt bar + 20kg)
    20 SDLHP (L: 45#/C: Same)
    20 Deadlifts (L: 55#/C: Lt bar + 20kg)
    20 Thrusters (L: 45#/C: Same)

    L: 8:39
    C: 8:50

    The last time I did this WOD, it was like 17:10-ish. What in the hell was I doing? I noted "lacked intensity" last time, so I upped the ante! I don't think I did multiple rounds last time. . . . Good WOD.
